Tire Pressure Maintenance & Equalization System
The Cat Eye System makes it easy to see if your dual tires are underinflated. The Cat Eye System also ensures tire pressure
is equalized between the dual tires, reducing drag and the chance of blow-outs.
Cat's Eye makes it easy for drivers and fleet maintenance personnel to see if there is a potential safety hazard from under-inflated tires.
The single airing point of the Cat Eye Unit allows airing of both dual tires at once, allowing air transfer from one tire to the other.
The internal check valve prevents both tires from going flat in the event of a leak, blow-out or if a hose gets broken.
According to Goodyear, underinflation is the number #1 cause of tire failure.
If the pressures in your duals are not the same, the rolling diameter of the tires will differ. Since duals are bolted together the smaller tire will be dragged. With just 5% difference in tire pressure, the smaller tire will be dragged 13 feet every mile.
